Software

Ok... so you made it to the last page of links. Hopefully, you now have a better understanding of what WBI is and are ready to tackle your first course. This last page contains links to some of the top software programs to develop WBI. The links are broken down by Web publishing and authoring software.

Your selection of software depends on your ability to control what is on the server you use to deliver the WBI programs, personal preferences, and should include your audience's ability to receive your courses.

If you are designing your first course, you may want to keep it simple and test the water. If you are beginning a comprehensive program that includes access to databases, interactivity, and multiple course developers and teachers then you should take your time and evaluate all of your possibilites. You may want to join a listserv that deals with distance education like the Distance Education Online Symposium (Penn State University), AECT's Issues and Discussion group (AECT), or World Wide Web Courseware Developers Listserv

If you have any other listservs or discussion groups that you would like to contribute to this site please email me at aleshire@harlingen.isd.tenet.edu
