The Harlingen CISD office of Advanced Academic Services manages several
programs in conjunction with district and campus administrators,
counselors, and teachers. Elementary students participate weekly in a
five-hour enrichment class, are identified in the area of general
intellectual ability, and are served in areas of language arts, math,
science, and social studies. Secondary students in grades 6-12 are
served through open enrollment in the Pre-Advanced Placement and
Advanced Placement Program. High school students may also enroll in
Distance Learning/Adjunct Instructor classes and concurrent enrollment
classes through TSTC as well as dual credit courses with UTPA. For more
