The Harlingen Area Educational Foundation was the first Foundation in the Valley     established to partner with education in support of school district programming.     The Harlingen Area Educational Foundation: Is a non-profit organization formed in 1990 that was established to partner businesses with education. Provides funds for educational programs and activites which either have not been funded or have been underfunded by the normal operating budget. Encourages all students to enroll in rigorous academic programs in high school. Provides scholarships to students who want to participate in the Technology Academies.
