A Crystal Commendation Award - A multifaceted promotional program and campaign employing a variety of media, occurring over a period of time and encompassing well-defined goals, strategies and activities. Two Best of Category Gold Medals - Are awarded in each category for an entry that stands out from all others for its exceptional creativity and quality. These Gold Star Medals were awarded to HCISD for its "District Web Site" and "Texas Parents' Day ad" a published print advertisement in the Valley Morning Star. Six Gold Star Awards - Are awarded in each category for an entry that not only achieves its purpose with noticeable creativity, craft, and skill, but, in the opinion of the judges, does so in an exceptional way. These Gold Star Awards were awarded to HCISD for the following catagories; Published Print Advertisements - "Congratulations Graduates" , "Commended Scholars Ad" and "Texas Parents' Day ad" ; Video Special Interest/Feature Series - "Texas Public Schools Week" ; Advertisement - "Mouse Pad" Harlingen Teachers, a history of making a difference ; and District Web Site. Two Silver Star Awards - Are awarded in each category for an entry that achieves its purpose with noticeable creativity, craft, and skill. These Silver Star Awards were awarded to HCISD for its School Calendar/Planner and video series episode "Career Pathways - Banking".
