
Purpose:
The purpose of this project
is to give students and teachers the opportunity to discover the world
of kites.
 
Objective:
The students will:
discover the history of kites
identify different kinds of kites
learn how to make your own kite
 
PROCESS:
There are two parts to this
lesson. The students will work in groups of 4 or 5. In these
groups they will do the following tasks:

#1
Identfying
different kinds of kites
Each group will choose the
kind of kite they'd like to learn about by using the following site:

After making a decision, the
group will complete the KITE PROJECT sheet. After gathering all the
information needed, they will work together to draw a picture of their
kite. Then they will show, tell about and describe their kite.

After completing Task #1, each
group will make a kite together. They can visit the following sites
