Curriculum and Instruction
The Harlingen
Consolidated Independent School Districtreceived a PS 8 grant from
the Telecommunications
Infrastructure Fund Board providing computers to schools in the district.
A requirement for receiving these computers was for a team of six staff
members per campus to attend a total of sixty hours.
The purpose of the
Curriculum
and Instruction strand is to provide all participants:
an awareness of the
impact of the Internet on teaching and learning, an opportunity to identify,
retrieve, and evaluate various types of curricular and instructional
resources available on the Internet, time to explore educational
uses of the Internet, and guided-practice web page design and development.
The TIF Team participants
for the C&I Strand were Christy
Cabrera and Terrie
Hagar from Stuart
Place Elementary.
